Introduction
This is an interesting area of forest and waterfalls on the north side of Tai Mo Shan that has produced excellent records in recent years.
Key Species
Speckled Piculet, Lesser Shortwing, Mountain Tailorbird, Brownish-flanked Bush Warbler, Pygmy Wren Babbler. Bull-headed Shrike has been quite regular here in recent years.

Crested Serpent Eagle, Crested Goshawk, Besra, Black-throated Laughingthrush, Silver-eared Mesia, Hainan Blue Flycatcher.

Birding
Walk steadily up the track to the waterfalls. Birds can be found in any area along this route. Rarities recorded in recent years include Mountain Bulbul, Japanese Robin, Fujian Niltava as well as Hodgson’s Hawk Cuckoo on passage.

Getting there
Take a 64K bus from either Yuen Long or Tai Po through the Lam Tsuen valley and get off at the turning to Ng Tung Chai village. From there walk up the hill (the birding can be quite good here too) to the village itself and beyond to the temple.
